After bidding process tug sports car maker Spyker for the purchase of GM's Saab that has passed the deadline on January 7 last, the two companies are reportedly close to a bright spot.

According to the Financial Times from a source close to negotiations said that the agreement will be done early this week. However, some obstacles still must be overcome before making a final announcement.

The report, quoted by Bloomberg said, despite an offer from a group Genii leader Bernie Ecclestone signed the list, is believed Spyker will be the only bidders who are still loyal to the interest.

Some sources say that Bloomberg's bid for Spyker offered U.S. $ 75 million in cash including U.S. $ 325 million in special stock to a new Saab. If GM agrees, the deal is expected to maintain the liquidity of U.S. $ 100 million of existing Saab.

Another source added that GM would sell the Spyker Saab if Russian businessman Vladimir Antonov as chairman and major shareholder of the company Spyker's out.

Meanwhile, spokesman of the Genii said the company remained interested in the Saab, despite knowing Spyker is still a favorite bidder.

"We've worked hard, unfortunately, time is not on our side. We are glad to hear Victor (Muller, CEO Spyker) and persistence to buy a Saab. He would be a perfect owner for Saab in the future," said Lars Carlstroem of Genii to Bloomberg.

Although negotiations continued, GM has started the process of wind-down, which is a process in which a company reduces operations gradually in order to stop the closure of operations at all. That process has started running since last month.

While GM's boss Ed Whitacre said his company rejected the last offer of Spyker. Spyker mesih and during the negotiation process, there is no good reason for GM to stop the wind-down process is taking place at the legendary Swedish car manufacturer is.
